The Gunners have signed Havertz in a £65m deal from Chelsea and confirmed his arrival on Wednesday, posting a social media clip of him in Arsenal gear.
The north London club’s media team appeared to film it in Marbella, Spain – where Havertz was attending the wedding of former team-mate Arrizabalaga.
The Spanish goalkeeper was tying the knot with his partner Andrea Martinez and Jorginho, who left Chelsea for Arsenal in January, was also in attendance.
Jorginho hinted at Havertz’s impending arrival before it was confirmed, posting a selfie of himself with the Germany international at Arrizabalaga’s wedding alongside a string of ‘eyes’ emojis, with both men pictured in suits.
Havertz’s move was later confirmed by Arsenal and it seems he was handed his shirt and conducted his first interview as a Gunners player on enemy turf.
‘Hi, it’s Kai here,’ Havertz said in the video. ‘I’m just buzzing to be a Gunner now and can’t wait to start the pre-season after my holiday.
‘I’m so glad and so happy to be a part of this amazing club. So see you soon!’
Havertz joins Arsenal following three years at Chelsea, where the forward registered 32 goals and 15 assists across 139 games.
The 24-year-old helped the Blues win the Champions League in 2021, scoring the only goal in the final as Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Manchester City 1-0.
