Arsenal Are Showing Interest In This Bundesliga Defender: Should Arteta Snap Him Up?

Frimpong’s Impressive Run Of Form In Bundesliga
Frimpong enjoyed a rich vein of form at the German club last season when he put in several productive displays on the right flank. The 22-year-old scored nine goals and picked up 11 assists in 48 matches for his current club in the previous campaign in all competitions.

The Dutch sensation caught the eye in both halves based on his average of 1.6 tackles, 0.5 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.1 shots, 1.3 key passes and 2.5 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He even distributed possession relatively well after completing 81.2% of his attempted passes in the German top-flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Leverkusen will expire in 2025 which would make it difficult for the Gunners to sign him for a reduced fee this summer.

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Snap Frimpong Up?
Frimpong usually clears the danger when needed and can time his tackles well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates from the right flank and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well. Frimpong is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a left-back or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.

The Dutch talent did really well to contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals for Leverkusen last season. However, it won’t be easy for him to do so in the Premier League if Arsenal manage to snap him up this summer. At 22, Frimpong has got the potential to become a world-class full-back someday. Thus, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should think about going all out to bring him to North London ahead of the new campaign.

We can expect Frimpong to bring more quality to Arteta’s squad and help the Gunners challenge across all competitions over the next decade. Hence, Arsenal would be wise to snap the Dutch right-back up in this ongoing transfer window.
