Arsenal could now join race to sign £43m player Jurgen Klopp really wants at Liverpool -

Arsenal could now reportedly join the race to sign Perr Schuurs, with Liverpool believed to be interested in the Torino centre-back.

According to journalist Dean Jones, the north London side have the Dutch defender on their radar as Mikel Arteta looks to ramp up Arsenal’s summer spending having landed Kai Havertz with Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber to follow later this month.

Schuurs has been a popular figure in the transfer mill this summer with the defender linked with Liverpool, with Tuttosport even reporting that the Reds have had a bid rejected by Torino for the former Ajax star, who could cost as much as £43m.

Indeed, Schuurs could be a great signing for Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp eager to bring the Dutchman to Anfield this summer, though Arsenal’s apparent interest in the defender could now prove to be a major roadblock for the Reds.

However, with Arsenal close to announcing the signing Timber, the north London side could quickly give up their pursuit for Schuurs, which could give Liverpool the chance to swoop for the Torino youngster as their main defensive acquisition of the window.Liverpool could still have the edge over Arsenal in Schuurs race

Interest in Schuurs has never been higher as the 23-year-old defender looks primed to depart Italy for the Premier League, and whilst Arsenal might now be in the race for the Dutchman, Liverpool could still have the edge in signing the Dutchman.

As we know, Liverpool are in greater need of signing a centre-back when compared to Arsenal, and with Klopp a big fan of Schuurs and reportedly making a bid for the defender, the Anfield side could ramp up their interest to bring the Serie A talent to Merseyside.
