It was posted by Barcelona on Instagram, with all four players talking to one another in a Facetime-type scenario.
Pedri tells the Arsenal star that ‘I am looking forward to seeing you in LA’ and how there will be ‘bright young talents going up against each other’.
Well, he’s not wrong because, whilst it’s going to be a pre-season friendly, there will be a capacity crowd at the SoFi Stadium to see some of football’s rising stars pit their talents up against one another.
Pedri is working his magic on the La Liga stage, as well as now becoming a fully-fledged Spain international, whilst Saka hit double figures in goals and assists in the Premier League last season.
“Hey Bukayo,” said Pedri. “How are you, mate?” to which Saka responds “Yes, Pedri. You good?”
Pedri adds: “All good here, my friend. I’m looking forward to seeing you in LA – Bright young talents going up against each other.”
Barcelona test is a sign of things to come
Whilst this is a pre-season friendly, it is going to be a sign of things to come for Arsenal, who are back on football’s biggest stage ahead of the new campaign.
Under Arsene Wenger, they used to secure Champions League football, season in and season out, in their sleep. But that has now avoided them for a number of years now.
Well, with Barca the current La Liga champions, and also having some of the best players in the world at their disposal, then they are going to get a taste of what the top-tier of European football tastes like.
