CONFIRMED: ARSENAL HAVE NOW DIRECTLY TOLD AGENT THEY WANT TO SIGN ‘PROMISING’ PLAYMAKER

Journalist Rudy Galetti has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal have got in touch with the father and agent of Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Arda Guler.

The Italian journalist has reported that Arsenal, Napoli, Liverpool, AC Milan and Barcelona all are interested in signing Guler from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.

Galetti said: “Arda Guler is followed by several teams in Europe. Arsenal, for sure, are among them, but the competition for the Turkish player is really, really fierce.

“There is a clause set at an amount less than €20m and for all the top clubs in Europe is a small amount.

“And so, PSG, AC Milan, Napoli, Liverpool, Barcelona and Arsenal and many, many other teams are in contact with his father.”

Could Arsenal sign Arda Guler this summer?
In our opinion, Arsenal could struggle to sign Arda Guler in the summer transfer window.

First of all, based on Galetti’s information, Arsenal are facing a lot of competition for Guler, described as “a promising player” by former AC Milan and Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo in Hurriyet.

So, the Gunners would have to work on a really unique pitch to the Turkey international attacking midfielder to convince him to the Emirates Stadium this summer
After all, Liverpool, Barcelona and AC Milan all are big clubs and are hugely appealing to any footballer.

Just like Arsenal.
Secondly, Arsenal do not need to sign another attacking player, especially one who is only 18 and is not the finished article yet.

The Gunners have only just recruited Germany international attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

Guler, who can operate as a playmaker, as a forward or as a winger, made 11 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig for Fenerbahce last season. The teenager scored four goals and gave three assists in those games.

Guler also made three starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.
