Report: Arsenal already considering selling ‘special’ talent

Marquinhos could be on the move again this summer with Arsenal open to a loan or even a permanent exit.

That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that Arsenal are currently discussing the next best step for Marquinhos.

It’s stated that Arsenal could loan Marquinhos out but a permanent sale has not been ruled out yet.

The Gunners seem to be weighing up whether to cash in on the Brazilian now – despite only signing him last summer.

Arsenal are set for a huge outlay having already signed Kai Havertz and teed up deals for Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice.

Edu must now focus on selling some players to bring in funds with the likes of Folarin Balogun, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nicolas Pepe potentially being sold.

Marquinhos may yet join that list with Arsenal at least giving some thought to selling the Brazilian.

Arsenal selling Marquinhos would be a surprise
Arsenal pounced to sign Marquinhos from his hometown club Sao Paulo last summer.

The winger had played 42 times for the Sao Paulo first team and Arsenal swooped in with a bargain deal.

Arsenal paid just £3million to sign Marquinhos, bringing him in as a talent for the future as Edu looked towards the Brazilian market.

Marquinhos has so far played just six times for Arsenal, bagging one goal and one assist.Norwich City then took Marquinhos on loan for the second half of the season and he made an impact for the Canaries.

Former Norwich striker Dean Ashton told ITV’s EFL Highlights Show (25 February, 9pm) that he feels Marquinhos is ‘special’ and a ‘wonderful talent’.

Marquinhos scored on his Norwich debut but wasn’t able to find the net in his next 10 games.

Now back with Arsenal, Marquinhos could be sold for a small profit this summer but it feels like another loan would be better, giving the Brazilian a chance to shine for a full season away from North London.
