According to reports, two Arsenal players are set to leave the Premier League club as ‘agreements are close’ with AS Monaco and Real Sociedad.

The Gunners have done some great business this summer as around £200m has been spent to sign Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya.

Their focus has now switched to offloading unwanted players before the summer transfer window closes next week.

And according to The Athletic, two deals are about to be finalised. Firstly, ‘Monaco are close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the signing of Folarin Balogun’.

The striker – valued at £50m – has been linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Chelsea but the Ligue Un outfit look set to win the race to sign the United States international.

The Athletic’s report adds: ‘Subject to deal being finalised, Balogun will undergo a medical and sign a five-year contract

‘The two clubs are still negotiating a final price for the USMNT international.

‘Monaco had a formal offer for Balogun rejected earlier this month, as reported by The Athletic.

‘The Ligue 1 side’s sporting director, Thiago Scuro, has a strong relationship with Edu, his opposite number at Arsenal.’

Scotland international Kieran Tierney is also nearing the exit door. The defender is understood to be valued at £30m and he’s been heavily linked with Newcastle United throughout this summer. The Magpies have instead opted to sign Lewis Hall from Chelsea and this has left La Liga side Real Sociedad as the favourites in the running for Tierney. The report from The Athletic states.

‘Real Sociedad are close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the signing of Kieran Tierney on a season-long loan.

‘The deal does not include an option or obligation to buy the Scotland international but Sociedad are paying a loan fee and covering Tierney’s salary in full.

‘A deal is not yet signed but if everything goes to plan he will travel to Spain and undergo a medical over the weekend.

‘Sociedad were the 26-year-old’s chosen destination due to his desire to play regular first-team football and compete in the Champions League, and Arsenal are understanding of those wishes.’

When asked about his future at Arsenal last month, Tierney said: “It’s not really up to me. I’m happy, I’m working hard every day and getting minutes. I’m just trying to do as well as I can.”
