It states that the Brazilian is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and that the Gunners would have to replace him if he departed the Emirates before the transfer window closes.
Guehi, as well as Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte, are both thought to be players who Mikel Arteta has on his radar.
Having already lost Wilfried Zaha, watching Guehi leave Selhurst Park would be a huge blow for Palace.
The Evening Standard also claims that Chelsea are hoping to conclude a £45m deal for Michael Olise, so this could end up being a very grim ending to the transfer window for Roy Hodgson.
Marc Guehi could be a great replacement for Gabriel
If Gabriel does decide to move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, Guehi may be the ideal successor to the former Lille man.
Guehi is a central defender who’s obviously familiar with the Premier League, so he could come in and replace Gabriel straight away.
However, the 23-year-old also has so much potential, meaning that he could be a huge player for Arsenal in the future as well.
“If he continues to move in the direction that he is, he’s got the world at his feet,” his Palace team-mate Joel Ward told the South London Press back in April.
Arsenal had a very consistent central defensive partnership last season thanks to Gabriel and William Saliba. It was only when the latter got injured that Arteta had to start making changes.
Ultimately, it would be a surprise if he wanted to break the above up. However, Gabriel may not give him much choice.
The Saudi Pro League has managed to lure some of the best players in the world away from their clubs, so perhaps the 25-year-old could be next.
