BREAKING: Arsenal's asking price for their 'extraordinary' player has dropped from £35m to just £13m.. With SHOCKEN REASONS

Arsenal are ready to sell Nuno Tavares in the coming weeks, and the Gunners’ asking price for the defender has dropped drastically in the space of just 12 months.

Mikel Arteta and Edu’s focus right now after agreeing a deal to sign David Raya is on outgoings. They have quite a few players they need to move on before the window shuts, and Tavares is definitely one of them.

Sky Sports Germany claim the defender is a wanted man.

Arsenal are ready to sell Nuno Tavares for just £13m
Arsenal signed Nuno Tavares from Benfica for around £8 million two years ago (BBC).

The Portuguese left-back started off his Gunners career in style. He scored on his debut in pre-season and carried that form into the Premier League campaign when he was asked to fill in for Kieran Tierney.

Tavares was so good that he even kept the Scotsman on the bench for a few games early in that season.

Sadly, the defender’s form fell off the cliff at the turn of 2022, and he was loaned out to Marseille last summer.

His season in France under Igor Tudor was very similar too – he started off brilliantly but was shocking in the final months of the season.

The ‘extraordinary‘ Tavares has no future at Arsenal now, and the Gunners are ready to let him go. Sky Sports Germany claim Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen are both keen to sign him, while there is interest from clubs in England and Italy as well.

The report claims Arsenal value Tavares at £13 million at the moment.

Edu wanted £35m last year
Even though Nuno Tavares had a really poor second half of the season last year at Arsenal, the Gunners were adamant that he was a very valuable player.

In the summer window last year, Italian side Atalanta expressed interest in signing Tavares. They were really keen, but The Express reported that the Serie A outfit ‘baulked’ at Edu’s £35 million demand.Atalanta walked away and Marseille agreed a deal to sign him on a season-long loan. He’s now back at Arsenal but there’s absolutely no way the Gunners can get anywhere near £35 million.

£13 million feels like a fair price for Tavares in this window. If Arsenal can get that, they should be really happy.
