'Get him out': Sky pundit shocked by Arsenal's transfer call on 'fantastic' player

The former Premier League midfielder labelled the Hale-End academy product as ‘fantastic’ following his rise through the ranks.
But now, Folarin Balogun is going to start a new chapter in his career at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and Ambrose thinks that the Arsenal fans will be ‘wondering why’ the striker is leaving, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (28/08/23 at 7:45 pm).

It’s a shame that the recently-turned USA international has only played 10 times for his boyhood club, scoring on two occasions because his talents deserved more.

There is no doubt that he is better than that, but he got a taste of first-team football last season, scoring 21 goals for Stade de Reims and now he wants to feel it again – he is being backed to thrive at table-topping, Monaco.

Given that Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are ahead of him in the pecking order, it seems as though Balogun has made the call to start a new chapter in his career, according to Football London, with Ambrose sharing his thoughts.

“There is potential,” said Ambrose. “He went on loan as well and done fantastic. I don’t know what’s happened with Arsenal and Balogun, to be honest.

“But he isn’t going to get an opportunity there, so it’s best for everyone to get him out of the door.

“I watched him a couple of years ago in the U21s. He was fantastic. He played Ipswich Town. I thought ‘yeah, this kid is going to go to the very top’. It just hasn’t worked out at Arsenal, for whatever reason.

“I think the Arsenal supporters are wondering why. But in ‘Mikel we trust’ is what the Arsenal fans say, so I am pretty sure they will be saying that.”Will Arsenal regret Balogun sale?
On one hand, you are allowing goals to leave your building when some argue that Arsenal, in their Premier League title race, should be adding them to their forward line.

The answer to all of that will become clearer as the season goes on, as fans hope it doesn’t come back to bite them.

But, on the other hand, they are making pure profit from the player and that money can help with FFP, as well as push for other targets
