Journalist shares what Balogun has now told Arsenal after Inter tabled bid for another striker

Folarin Balogun has asked Arsenal to drop their asking price as Inter Milan feel £45 million is too high for him, reports journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Serie A club have not ruled out signing the 22-year-old, but they have already submitted a bid for his West Ham United counterpart Gianluca Scamacca.

Balogun reckons Arsenal are pricing him out of a move by adding £10m extra to what he believes he is worth in the market.

However, the North London club insist their valuation is more than fair given his huge potential, which saw him notch 22 goals while on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Reims last term.

Some at the club want £50m as a minimum for his signature, and it remains to be seen whether any of his suitors will be keen to meet their demands.

A couple of Premier League clubs have made enquiries concerning the United States international, while West Ham are keeping tabs on him as they prepare to lose their Italian striker.

Balogun is expected to leave Arsenal this summer as he is behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the pecking order of manager Mikel Arteta.

However, Arsenal want top dollar for their academy graduate, which has left him frustrated as he wants to join a new club as soon as possible.

The Gunners would likely wait until the final days of the transfer window before accepting a bid for Balogun, and it will be interesting to see how much they end up collecting for him.
