The reshuffle also needs to take into account the potential for incomings too. However, the club are closing on their fourth summer signing with the potential for more as Edu Gaspar works to complete the summer business.
Arteta said when asked: “We are in the process. We are working on a few things and we have to make a few decisions.
“There’s still time. We are very happy with the squad, that’s for sure.”
“But as well we have to make sure that we can have and share the minutes in the right way for the team to have a healthy competition in the squad. We are working on that.”
Arteta talked about the decisions that still needed to be made. With that in mind, football.london takes a look at what those key decisions will be for the Arsenal manager and his team.
David Raya and Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus is the other name that has been most prevalently talked about. With Gabriel Jesus injured, adding another forward to provide competition at both right-wing and centre-forward would surely be of significant benefit to the club.
Matt Turner and Alex Runarsson
With Raya’s potential arrival comes the need to secure a move for the other senior goalkeepers in the squad. Matt Turner is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest and the club will hope to recoup as much of the fee they aim to pay for the Spaniard with money made from the sale.
Alex Runarsson remains at the club but football.london understands the club are open to offers for the Iceland international. He spent time at Alanyaspor last season but so far no concrete offers have arrived.
Nuno Tavares and Sambi Lokonga
The latest on Albert Sambi Lokonga is that discussions with Burnley over a loan move are being discussedfootball.london understands. The Belgian is unlikely to get too many minutes and the club will want to see his value increase ahead of a potential summer sale in 2024.Nuno Tavares has returned to the club and the club are open to an exit. After his spell in Marseille which did not go particularly well, there has been little in the way of serious interest so far.
Contract terminations
Nicolas Pepe and his representatives are in talks with Besiktasfootball.london understands. The Ivorian could see his contract mutually terminated in order to facilitate an exit from the club.
Cedric Soares has been the subject of interest from clubs such as Villarreal, however, it has gone very quiet of late. Perhaps another who could be in for a mutual agreement of his contract coming to an end with the club.
