football.london reported that Arsenal were open to offers for the Ghanaian, with Saudi Arabian clubs interested, with an offer rejected and Juventus also interested.
That plan to let him leave appeared to change before the season began when manager Mikel Arteta said: "Without a question of a doubt. Thomas is a super important player for us and for me. I want him to be part of the team. That’s for sure."
That appeared to be an end to it, but there may well have been a second u-turn on the subject. Reports in Turkey suggest that Galatasaray are in talks to sign the 30-year-old before the transfer window shuts on Friday, September 1.
And the same reports say Arsenal are open to completing a transfer. Turkish publication Takvim say Gala have opened talks for the midfielder, but have seen an £8.5million bid for the player knocked back.
Arsenal have reportedly told the Turkish giants that an offer of £12million would be enough to get a deal done. Arteta did say after the Nottingham Forest win that “every time I spoke to him and had a conversation with him, he’s ready to stay with us".
It could be an interesting couple of weeks for Partey and Arsenal in the transfer window.
