The Scottish defender was reportedly unhappy with his minutes in the Premier League last season, and it looked like he would be heading out of the Emirates this summer.
There have been very strong links to Newcastle at times, but, for some reason, that has gone quiet in recent times.
Speaking to Hayters TV, David Ornstein shared the insider view of Tierney’s situation, and he says that on his end it has all gone quiet as well.
Tierney looking more likely to stay
Ornstein shared what he knows about the £25m man.
“So what happens with say Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Kieran Tierney, there was a lot of noise around him, but that has gone quiet. Folarin Balogun and Charlie Patino, there are options for departures, but they need to start making it happen to cope with that financial fair play situation,” Ornstein said.
Worth keeping
Tierney may have been strongly linked away from Arsenal in recent times, but we can’t help but think that he is worth keeping.
The left-back is still a fantastic player in his own right, and while he may not be starting every single week this season, he’ll be a handy depth option.
With Arsenal back in the Champions League for the first time in a while, depth will be more important than ever in Mikel Arteta’s side, and Tierney will be vital in those games where Arsenal need to rotate a bit and give Oleksandr Zinchenko a bit of a break after his recent fitness issues.
