‘What’s the point’: Frank Leboeuf urges ‘outstanding’ player not to secure Arsenal transfer.. He's Reasons are well Spelled Out

Mikel Arteta already has an established number one goalkeeper in Aaron Ramsdale and Leboeuf questioned ‘what’s the point?’ of David Raya joining him.

Arsenal are edging closer to signing the Brentford star, but it’s a loan deal first, with an option to make it permanent, as reported by Sky Sports.

Former Chelsea man Leboeuf pointed out that Raya has been ‘outstanding’, and instead, he should look to move to a club lower down than Arsenal where he will get starts, as he told ESPN.

This possible deal has caused quite a stir, with a number of people raising their eyebrows, including former keepers, Brad Friedel being one of them.

From the point of view of an outfield player, Leboeuf is left perplexed by this all.
“I don’t understand the players anymore,” said Leboeuf. “They don’t want to play football. It’s just about the club they play for and the money they get.

“Really, what’s the point? You play in the Premier League and have been outstanding. And now you are going to sit on the bench because we read the article of Ramsdale. We know how Arteta highly rates Ramsdale.

“There is no chance for Raya, unless Ramsdale got injured, to play, so what’s the point again?! Yes, Arsenal is a big club.

“But what’s the point to go onto the bench for the Gunners? I don’t get it. You will have some clubs coming up, and maybe you can sign for, maybe not a club as big as the Gunners, but at least you will play. You will play football which is the essence of being a football player.”Arteta taking a huge risk

That’s what is needed if you want to win the Premier League title, because this is only going to go one way and one way only.

Either, it goes very, very, very well, or horribly wrong.

But the key thing about it all is that the powers that be have, once again, backed Arteta and allowed him to do what he wants, which is the most important thing because you can then fully judge him on it all.
