Arsenal injury news: 3 key players miss Everton clash after Gabriel update

Arsenal face Everton away from home on Sunday, in Mikel Arteta’s return to action after the international break. The spirits are high in the North London camp at the moment after the dramatic win against rivals Manchester United. This seems like the perfect time to play Everton but as we know, facing a Sean Dyche team away from home is never easy.

With that in mind, Mikel Arteta would like to field his strongest lineup. Although, he is aware of the following midweek fixture against PSV in the Champions League opener. While squad rotation will become important, it doesn’t seem like the right time to start doing that now.

Arsenal injury news – Gabriel will be fit as 3 players miss Everton match
Thankfully for Mikel Arteta, there has been a positive Arsenal injury news update from Football London. They claim that despite Gabriel having ice applied to his leg after being subbed off for Brazil, he is still expected to play their next fixture on Tuesday.

For Arsenal, the injured players remain the same known three – Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber and Mohamed Elneny, none of them expected to return to action by Sunday’s fixture.

Gabriel Magalhaes started this season on the bench which is not where he’d like to play. Mikel Arteta insisted this was for tactical reasons but since then, he reintroduced Gabriel back to the starting lineup.

Admittedly, the Brazilian was one of the best players on the pitch against Man United, so he’ll feel like his chances of being selected against Everton are high. Although, the final call will of course come from the manager Mikel Arteta.
