Mudryk has had to wait for his opportunity under Pochettino with Ben Chilwell preferred to him in the advanced role during the first few weeks of the season. However, Mudryk was given his first league start of the season against the Cherries with Pochettino's verdict hinting another start in the immediate was unlikely.
"He is improving," the Chelsea boss said after the game. "He still needs to learn; the Premier League is very fast, the speed of the game is so fast. I think it's about understanding the game better, try to be more connected sometimes with the team. We need to give the time and to give the tools for him to improve during the season."
"I think tomorrow he [Chilwell] is going to play," he said. "I think always, the expectation and what we expect from the player, we were using him maybe not in his best position because he was a winger. That is why after we start to play with a winger like Mischa, when he recovered, our thought was to keep Levi in the position."
With Chilwell likely to play, Mudryk could find himself out of the team but that could instead show that he is firmly part of Pochettino's favoured starting XI. Although Mudryk is yet to score in competitive action for his new club, Seaman has made his thoughts on the 22-year-old perfectly clear by highlighting two of his best attributes.
"I'm still sure there is going to be a lot more from Mykhailo Mudryk because he looks a proper player," he told his podcast Seaman Says. "The touches, the turn of pace that he has got, I think that's another one which is waiting to happen."
