Arsenal star Bukayo Saka destroys Roman Kemp live on radio as he reads out Instagram DM's

Bukayo Saka starred for Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday, before being invited onto Roman Kemp's radio show on Tuesday, with the presenter a huge Gunners fan

Bukayo Saka has left Roman Kemp humiliated after reading out the DJ's direct messages to him live on breakfast radio.

Kemp is famously an Arsenal fan and regularly attends the Gunners' games, with Saka starring for Mikel Arteta's team. The attacker played a key role in the draw with Tottenham, firing in the ball that Cristian Romero put into his own net before converting a penalty.

Saka was then invited onto Kemp's Capital Breakfast show on Tuesday morning and co-presenters Sian Welby and Chris Stark soon realised that Kemp had been sending the England star direct messages on Instagram for a number of years.

After teasing Kemp, Welby and Stark were able to convince Saka to read out the messages that the presenter had sent to him. Despite the humiliation though, Kemp refused to curtail his love for the Arsenal star.

Welby began by asking: "Bukayo, I need to ask a few questions here because Roman at times does make me cringe. He's admitted to DMing you despite not knowing you....tell me now, right.

"How many of these DMS do you get from grown men like Roman? Just messaging you through the game telling you how good it was? Do you find it cringe and do you ever reply?"

Saka though revealed that he never checks the messages he is sent, replying: "I don't really go through my DMs. I don't know." Kemp then made a late plea for his messages to be kept secret: "Please don't Bukayo because I've been messaging you for a good 10 years."After some begging from Welby and Stark, Saka relented and brought out his phone to look up Kemp's messages. Saka soon realised how much Kemp had been messaging him, saying: "There's a few."

The Arsenal star then began reading some of Kemp's messages, including when he scored against Ukraine in March's Euro 2024 qualifier. He said: "When I scored against Ukraine he put 'screamer'."

That prompted fits of laughter from the studio, before he was urged to read out another of Kemp's messages. He soon found one, saying: "The other one is from a story he replied, 'best of luck for tomorrow, bro. You've got this'."

Again Kemp's fellow presenters burst out laughing, though Saka defended him, insisting it was a "nice" message. Welby though claimed it was "tragic", before Kemp admitted there was worse messages out there.

He said: "What he's not seen as well but I can actually see... this was back in the day, April 2021. And I've tagged you and Emile and just said 'linkup's too much'. Look at that... love it."

Saka added that Kemp was "lucky" more messages were coming up, before the presenter professed his love for the Arsenal star. Kemp said: "That's my life Bukayo just replying to footballers. I love you so much, dude. I'm just gonna come out and say it! I love you. And I will keep DMing you, just to let you know."
