Saka was left out of the matchday squad that beat Brentford in the Carabao Cup third round - setting up a fourth round tie against West Ham United. Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Thomas Partey, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber remain sidelined with their own injury issues - whilst William Saliba was also rested on Wednesday night.
Saka was in severe pain after taking a knock on his foot during the dying embers of the North London Derby - but his injury is not thought to be anything serious. Arteta hinted earlier this week that the Hale End graduate's issue could keep him out for a game or two during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning.
"He was limping quite badly after the match. We had to get him off the field which is never a good sign," Arteta told the media this week.
"He hasn’t been able to participate in the session," he added. When asked if he would be out for the game against Bournemouth, the Arsenal boss responded: "It’s a possibility, yes."
Saka has now posted a picture of himself inside a gym on his Instagram story - suggesting he is actively working on his fitness ahead of the trip to Bournemouth this weekend. It's unclear whether the England international is doing recovery work or is fully fit and ready to return to training.
