However, following the UEFA Champions League group stage draw the fixture has been pushed back 23 hours. Instead, the game will be shown live on Sky Sports with kick-off at 4.30pm as the Gunners look to avenge last season's 1-0 defeat and leave the stadium with three points for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign.
An announcement with regard to the fixture alteration was provided by Arsenal.com just under a week ago as a statement read: "Our upcoming Premier League game against Everton has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Sunday, 17 September, with kick-off at 4.30pm at Goodison Park.
"The game had previously been set for Saturday, 16 September, but has been moved as a consequence of the movement to Newcastle United v Brentford, which has been brought one day forward due to their UEFA Champions League campaign beginning the following Tuesday."
Whilst possibly not ideal for many supporters in terms of travel plans, the change should be great news for Arsenal's Brazilian contingent, in particular. Of the 16 senior players - currently at the club - selected for international duty, there's no denying that Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have the longest trips.
That will be the least of Mikel Arteta's concerns at the moment with his central defender suffering an injury scare on what was an impressive debut for the Selecao. Provided the substitution was nothing more than a precaution, another boost will be on the way for the Gunners boss.
With Brazil back in action against Peru in the early hours on Wednesday morning (UK time) it's safe to assume the aforementioned trio will be among the final batch of Arsenal players to return from international duty when Arteta is reunited with his squad at London Colney next week.
