Gabriel Magalhaes sends message to Arsenal star after outstanding display vs Brentford

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes reacted to Jorginho’s Instagram post following the club’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup third round.

Jorginho made a huge error during the north London derby which contributed to Tottenham’s equaliser in the second half, just one minute after the Gunners took the lead.

Despite this, manager Mikel Arteta was fully supportive of him after the game and there were no surprises when Jorginho was picked to start in the number six role last night.

With Declan Rice and Thomas Partey injured, the Italian was the best solution at the manager’s disposal and Jorginho got the chance to redeem himself with a fine display.

The 31-year-old may have to continue in the role on Saturday if Rice does not recover from a back problem. The Gunners face Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.
