Leandro Trossard sends clear message to Mikel Arteta ahead of Everton vs Arsenal

Arsenal star Leandro Trossard scored a sublime goal during Belgium's 5-0 victory over Estonia on Tuesday night.

Trossard picked up the ball from Romelu Lukaku before gliding past a number of Estonia defenders, showcasing some impressive close control in the process. The diminutive playmaker then rifled a stunning effort into the back of the net, illustrating just how powerful his ball-striking ability can be.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion frontman, who also provided an excellent performance from central midfield against Azerbaijan on Saturday, will hope that his impressive showings for Belgium can help his case to start Arsenal's Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Trossard has started just one match for the Gunners so far this season but he remained coy when asked about his limited minutes this term. When quizzed on his lack of action, the 28-year-old told Het Laatste Nieuws, via Arseblog: "I don’t know how the national coach feels about that [his role at Arsenal].

"I am still convinced that I will play enough matches. I will be ready for the European Championship.

"We have a game every three days [at Arsenal], so it’s impossible to play with the same guys every time. It’s up to me to show myself when I get a chance. The coach told me that too."

Trossard's versatility makes him a great option for Arteta, capable of operating in midfield, on either flank and even as a false nine.
