It has been widely reported that Arsenal had an excellent summer transfer window. They signed some huge names and strengthened in all the right positions. Taking their spending to £200m, it’s clear that Mikel Arteta had a purpose. But what isn’t spoken about enough is how the Gunners managed to keep ahold of their best players.
New contracts recently for Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and, of course, Martin Odegaard, suggest that Arteta doesn’t only want to strengthen for the current era, but solidify their status for the long-term future. It’s known that the Spanish boss is all about the “project” at the Emirates Stadium, but his actions are certainly showing that.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal are happy with Emile Smith Rowe
According to a new update from Fabrizio Romano (via HITC), the trusted transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has issued another huge boost involving an Arsenal star’s long-term future. He has claimed there should be “no panic” for fans involving the future of Emile Smith Rowe, despite rumours linking him to Chelsea.
Emile Smith Rowe is a Hale End graduate who hasn’t made a start for Arsenal in some time. However, Romano claims this isn’t because Arteta is unhappy with him. Instead, the Spanish boss is over the moon with his current crop of players and would like to give them all opportunities to shine when the time is right.
