22-year-old Arsenal player sends two word message after what £34m man did for Liverpool last night

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has won plenty of admirers for his display against Toulouse last night.

The 21-year-old was fantastic during his 70 minutes on the pitch, bagging a goal and driving Liverpool forward throughout.

It was the kind of performance that’s bound to get you noticed. And judging by Gravenberch’s Instagram post from last night, the Reds midfielder is even earning praise from rivals.

Liverpool’s No.38 took to the social media platform after the game to share his delight at his evening’s work.

“Brilliant European night under the lights,” Gravenberch wrote, alongside a few shots of his goal and celebrations.

One of those to respond was Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber. Having grown up together in the Ajax youth teams, Timber and Gravenberch are great friends. That would explain the Arsenal’s comment of ‘My guy’ to celebrate his mate’s goal. Wholesome.

Gravenberch takes the applause
There were others applauding Gravenberch, too. Tottenham Hotspurs’ defender Micky van de Ven posted a hearts-for-eyes emoji, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong went with ‘Ryannnn’ and two flames.

Ryan’s Liverpool teammates were equally enthusiastic, too.

“What a performance,” wrote Liverpool’s skipper for the night Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Meanwhile, Gravenberch’s Dutch compatriots Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo both showed a variety of emojis to convey their admiration.

And in all honesty, they’re right to be enthused. Gravenberch was superb on Thursday evening and deserves all the applause coming his way.

As Jurgen Klopp said after the game, the exciting thing is that there’s still so much more to come from the former Bayern Munich man.

The more he settles in at Anfield, the more it feels like we’ll see displays like the one last night regularly.

For the time being though, it’s time for Ryan to sit back and enjoy the adulation. He’s earned it.
