Arsenal and Man City told why they should be scared of Liverpool in title race

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison has stressed Liverpool will be in contention for the Premier League title come the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp's side have enjoyed a relatively impressive start to the current campaign, losing only one of their eight league fixtures and winning five. This solitary defeat of course arrived in controversial circumstances away at Tottenham Hotspur, a game during which Liverpool saw a Luis Diaz goal wrongly ruled out before being shown two red cards.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are the current pacesetters in the division and both remain unbeaten. The latter will face questions over their ability to maintain such performance levels, though the Gunners are fully expected to be in the mix come May.

Manchester City remain the favourites for the vast majority, though Pep Guardiola's side showed they are far from perfect after recently suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats for the first time since 2018.

Few had Liverpool in the conversation for the title ahead of a ball being kicked, but former Premier League striker Morrison has insisted you would be foolish to still have doubts over the Reds' potential to seize top spot.

"Liverpool are title contenders, I said that at the start of the season," said the ex-Crystal Palace and Birmingham City star. "The one thing with Liverpool is they will always score goals. They didn't get the players they wanted in midfield, but Szoboszlai is an outstanding signing. He is a player and is only going to improve and get better.I watched the game against Brighton and, at 2-1, if Gravenberch scores it is a different game. Brighton is a hard place to go, they are a good team. Not many top teams will go there and take points.

"Liverpool are definitely in the title race as they have got top, top players," continued Morrison. "Salah produces and is only going to kick on and go to a different level, you've got Diaz getting back to his best, Nunez, Diogo Jota, Gakpo. Look at these players that I am mentioning. Liverpool are definitely title contenders. This Premier League is going to be so exciting."
