Thomas Partey has been a great player for Arsenal since he signed from Atletico Madrid. While it may have taken him some time to adjust to life in North London, he has been one of the most important players under Mikel Arteta over the last couple of seasons.
However, he isn’t getting any younger. Partey ages at 30 years old and it’s important to note that he’s injury prone too. With that in mind, Mikel Arteta is seeking a long-term replacement for him in the next transfer window.
With a goal in mind to unlock Declan Rice by solidifying his position further forward, Mikel Arteta will go about his business smartly. However, his main target is also of interest to Spurs and Man City.
Arsenal competed by Spurs and Man City for Arthur Vermeeren
According to a report from 90min, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs have all enquired about signing Arthur Vermeeren of Royal Antwerp. The 18-year-old is one of the best young players in the world, and is setting the world alight with his consistent defensive-midfield performances both domestically for Antwerp and in the Champions League.
Certainly, he would be a great addition for each team. To give both competitors their respect (yes, even Spurs), Vermeeren is targeted by three great clubs who are on the rise. However, we all know that Mikel Arteta has the charm, so should he meet with the 18-year-old in person, he may become inspired to join a young, talented midfield at the Emirates Stadium.
