Arsenal have already set up network to bring in fearless 'game-changer' in January swoop

Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, despite the player recently signing a bumper contract extension at the Signal Iduna Park. The winger is now tied down with the Bundesliga outfit until 2028, though that has not put a halt to the Gunners’ pursuit.

Mikel Arteta has reaped the benefits of his minor shakeup over the summer transfer window, with his side currently second in the Premier League and remain unbeaten after eight matches. Arsenal laid down a marker before the international break with a 1-0 win over Manchester City, and they look set to push for the title once again.

The additions of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and David Raya have provided the squad with sufficient depth to rotate their ranks without there being a drop-off in quality. However, Arteta did not bolster his forward ranks over the summer, and the Spaniard looks set to address his attacking quality in January.

Brentford star Ivan Toney has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, among other marquee strikers. Though an addition out wide also should not be ruled out – with BILD reporting that the Gunners are very keen on Bynoe-Gittens.

Arsenal’s recruitment team are said to be planning their pursuits for January and have set their sights on the 19-year-old. The England Under-21 international has impressed when given opportunities by Dortmund, making three Bundesliga appearances so far this season, and there is a feeling that he could be a useful asset for the Gunners in the short and long-term.

Bynoe-Gittens has earned high praise when called upon by his side, with Dortmund boss Edin Terzic telling DAZN last season: “With him, it’s basically quite simple: he has the ability to decide games. He’s a game-changer – and that’s what I wanted to see from him.”
