Arsenal have had an excellent start to the season. Although Mikel Arteta has experimented with his side and played around with some positions to fit in some new signings, there are certain players who are simply irreplaceable.
One of those players is Ben White. The incredibly talented footballer who doesn’t even watch the sport has been one of the standout performers for the Gunners so far this season. Asserting his position at right-back as his own, his place in the starting XI has been ever so important for Arteta, particularly given the injury to Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal are confident about extending Ben White’s deal, says Fabrizio Romano
So much so, that Mikel Arteta would like to reward Benny Blanco with a new deal.
According to a recent update from Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal remain confident they can secure a new contract extension for Ben White. The report claims that White is happy at Arsenal and after the skipper Martin Odegaard extended his deal, White would like to follow suit and become the next to commit.
This is an element of Mikel Arteta’s management style which is often overlooked. Everybody knows he’s an astute tactician and he’s as passionate as managers come nowadays. But perhaps his most important strategy is man-management. He has a close relationship with all the players and everybody is happy at the club, hence the continuous contract announcements.
