Five Arsenal stars must make decision on leaving Gunners in January transfer window

Arsenal are unbeaten in the league, with six wins from their eight matches. They suffered a blip in the Champions League with a shock 2-1 loss at Lens but are still in the Carabao Cup.

Arteta spent around £210million on four signings in the summer, adding quality to his starting XI and options off the bench. But a deep squad will always mean some players play less than others.

Arteta will want to limit the number of exits in the January window to ensure he has all bases covered. But five players in particular have decisions to make on their futures and Express Sport looks at each one on an individual basis.

Arteta stated that he would rotate his goalkeepers and even substitute them when the opportunity felt right. But at the moment, it seems like David Raya is the No 1.

Ramsdale didn't do too much wrong but has now not played in each of the last six matches across the Premier League and Champions League. His ultimate aim is to become England's No 1 but that won't be happening when he is not playing at club level.

Emile Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe finally made a start for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup win over Brentford. It was his first start in any competition in 499 days.

However, he is yet to do so in the Premier League, confined to just two substitute appearances in the top flight. If that doesn't change by January, surely he will consider continuing his career elsewhere.Mohamed Elneny

It is hard to see Elneny starting for Arsenal in any competition anytime soon. With Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Jorginho all ahead of him, the Egypt star will rarely even get a chance off the bench.

Elneny is grateful for Arsenal's support throughout his recent serious knee injury. But if he wants to play regularly again, it won't be at the Emirates.

Jorginho

It is hard to see a case of both Elneny and Jorginho leaving. Perhaps the former Chelsea star will push more for an exit after again being snubbed by Italy boss Luciano Spalletti.

Jorginho started against Manchester City and did a good job in the middle of the park. But once Partey is at full match fitness, he will likely be confined to the cameo roles.

Cedric Soares
A forgotten man in the Arsenal squad, Cedric will leave Arsenal at some point in the near future. He is in the final year of his contract and was linked with several clubs in the summer.

His only appearance this term was as a late sub in the cup win at Brentford. Arteta won't lose much sleep if he requests to leave in the winter.
