Havertz starts in 3 big changes | Expected Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Sevilla

Arsenal face Sevilla on the road in tonight’s Champions League group stage clash.

The Gunners were far from their best against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday. They failed to register a shot for 76 minutes, but secured a point with a late fightback.

Declan Rice scored a sublime long-range goal after Robert Sanchez’s poor pass. Soon after, Leandro Trossard put the club level after a brilliant cross from Bukayo Saka.

Manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with the team’s character. He will be hoping that the club can return to winning ways at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan tonight.

Arsenal started their Champions League campaign with a convincing 4-0 triumph over PSV Eindhoven before suffering a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Lens away from home.

They have the opportunity to make amends against Sevilla, who have had a tough start in La Liga.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

David Raya was unconvincing between the sticks over the weekend. His poor judgement paved the way for Mykhailo Mudryk to find the net with his cross-cum-shot. The Spaniard made another high-profile error in the second half and was lucky as Cole Palmer failed to convert.

This has led to suggestions that Aaron Ramsdale should replace in goal, but we anticipate the 27-year-old to continue as the first-choice. Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said that errors are part of the game and the Spaniard is unlikely to contemplate a change tonight.

In front of him, there should be a solitary change. Takehiro Tomiyasu should start at left-back ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who looked second best against Raheem Sterling on Saturday. He was guilty of losing possession and was replaced by Tomiyasu in the second half. The rest of the backline should stay the same. Ben White looks set to continue from his right-back position with William Saliba accompanying Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the defence for the north London giants.

Jorginho was present in the pre-match presser which is a possible hint that he will start. However, we would personally prefer the physical presence of Thomas Partey in the number six role against Djibril Sow and Boubakary Soumare.

Declan Rice had a good outing in the derby from the creative central midfield role. He came closing to scoring in the opening half before grabbing the headline moment with his long-range strike. He is an assured starter for Arsenal.

In the final third, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli should be assured starters. Martinelli looks set to make his Champions League debut, having missed the first two group stage games with a minor hamstring injury.

As said yesterday, we would prefer Kai Havertz to lead the attack ahead of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. The German’s aerial presence would be a better choice to keep Sergio Ramos occupied and bring the wingers into play. He deserves a start on the back of promising cameos.
