Chelsea host rivals Arsenal this weekend at Stamford Bridge, with three important Premier League points up for grabs.
It’s been a very one-sided fixture in recent times. Arsenal have actually won six of the previous seven meetings with Chelsea across all competitions.
It’ll be very interesting to see what happens this time around, though.
TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has predicted an away win for Arsenal on their short trip across London this weekend.
“I think Arsenal are going to beat you (Chelsea) 2-1. I think they will turn you over… Arsenal keep winning,” O’Hara told talkSPORT (11:30pm, 18 October).
We’re going to learn a lot about this Chelsea side by how they perform in these four league games before the next international break. Incidentally, there’s a Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Championship side Blackburn Rovers squeezed in there as well.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side host both Arsenal and Brentford this month. That’s followed by a trip to Tottenham and a home fixture against Manchester City before the next set of international matches during November.
So, how many points will the Blues collect from the next 12 available to them?
Aside from Brentford, Chelsea are preparing to face the current top three in the Premier League during the next few weeks. It’s pretty obvious we’ll need to be far more efficient in the final third with the attacking output to get any positive results. But it’s certainly not all doom and gloom despite the tough rough on paper. In fact, with the pace on the wings, the Blues may be particularly dangerous on the counter-attack.
It’s worth remembering that Chelsea 1-1 draw against Liverpool on the opening day is still one of thir best performances of the season so far.
