Latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Sevilla clash amid Fabio Vieira update

Arsenal are back in action tonight when they travel to Spain to take on Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League. It is the third matchday of the Gunners' campaign, having defeated PSV Eindhoven 4-0 before losing 2-1 to RC Lens last time out.

Mikel Arteta's side head into the tie at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium off the back of a draw with Chelsea on Saturday evening, having come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge. Following the October international break, there were question marks over the fitness status' of several important players which have since been cleared up.

So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest news to come out of the treatment room at London Colney.

Fabio Vieira
Having previously been an injury concern, Vieira was missing from the matchday squad to take on London rivals Chelsea on Saturday. It was later confirmed that it wasn't due to an injury worry and the Portuguese star is still available for selection.

Expected return date: Sevilla (A) - Tuesday, October 24.

Bukayo Saka
After being forced off in the defeat to RC Lens in the Champions League, Saka was left out of the Arsenal squad completely against Manchester City. The injury concerns over the winger became too much, consequently seeing him become a doubt for the international break.

While there were concerns over whether Saka would be fit enough to feature on Saturday against Chelsea, the winger made his return and marked it with an assist.

William Saliba
One of Arsenal's best players against Man City, Saliba withdrew from the France squad for the international break due to a toe injury. The news came shortly after the final whistle in north London, meaning the defender played the entirety of the game through an injury.

Much like his fellow teammates, Saliba managed to make his return to action against Chelsea, playing the whole match and proving his fitness once more.Leandro Trossard
Trossard returned to the Arsenal XI against Lens and was handed a place in Arteta's side against Man City following news of Saka's absence. However, he only lasted 45 minutes and was replaced by matchwinner Martinelli.

The forward was expected to play a part in Belgium's European Championship qualifier double header against Austria and Sweden. However, an update from the national team announced that after being assessed, Trossard would not play any part.

There was good news to be had though as the forward came off the bench to face Chelsea and managed to find himself on the scoresheet with the final goal to draw the game.

He was in attendance for the game against Man United earlier this season. football.london spoke to Timber post-match where the 22-year-old was still using the aid of two crutches to move about.

Asked how he was feeling with his recovery, a swift, "good, good" was the response. He will be sorely missed, especially with the club failing to find a suitable replacement in the summer transfer window.

Injury: Knee

Expected return date: 2024

What Arteta has said: "Huge blow. Especially for him after just joining the club. To have the injury he has is a huge blow. We recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident, but he's not going to be able to do it this season. We have to adapt. These things happen, unfortunately, and we have to move on."
