Leandro Trossard makes Arsenal title prediction after saving Gunners against Chelsea

Leandro Trossard believes Arsenal could face competition in a wide-open title race this season.

Gunners super sub Trossard scored a dramatic leveller to salvage a point as the Belgium forward hailed Arsenal's fighting spirit. But Trossard also predicted it could be more than a two-horse race from last year when Manchester City won the title despite Arsenal leading for so long. This time, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle also look ready to challenge City.

Trossard said: “Obviously there are a lot of teams who have strengthened their squads and it will be a close call at the end. But it is still early on and we need to take it game-by-game and try to win every game.

“At the end, if you are 2-0 down then you are happy to take a point away. But we also know that we can do better and need to take that with us to the next game.

“Well done to the boys - they never let their heads go down and kept believing. You can see you only need one moment to change a game. I knew when Bukayo (Saka) put it on his left foot that I had to make the run. We spoke about it in training and it was the perfect ball and I knew I had to make contact and it was a great goal.”

‌Arsenal go to Sevilla on Tuesday needing a result in the Champions League after losing their first away game at Lens. Trossard added: “They are two different teams. It is a tough place to go. For Lens, it was so many years since they played there as well so I think we just need to make sure we are at it from the first minute. If we are playing our game and if we can control the game, I am absolutely sure that we can win those games. But if we are not, we give them a chance.

“We always want a result. We want to win every game. That is how we approach every game as well. That is how we will do it for Seville and make sure we are ready for that.”
