Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard has withdrawn from the Belgium national team and won't be available for their upcoming international games.

Trossard was substituted at half time in Arsenal's Premier League victory over Manchester City on Sunday and replaced by match-winner Gabriel Martinelli.

It has now been revealed the Belgian star is unavailable to represent his country due to a hamstring problem that will keep him side-lined during the international break.

The Belgium national team released news about Trossard's condition, announcing: 'Leandro Trossard is not fit to join the squad at the Proximus Basecamp on Monday.'

They further revealed that the 28-year-old will be replaced in Domenico Tedesco's side by Royal Antwerp midfielder Arthur Vermeeren.

Belgium will be without Trossard for their upcoming European Championship qualifying matches against Austria and Sweden.

Arsenal will oversee the player's recovery from his latest injury set-back during the two-week domestic break in a bid to get him fit for the resumption of the Premier League.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta hopes to have the former Brighton star available for selection when they travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 21.The injury is the first major setback Trossard has had during his Arsenal career after moving to the Emirates in a £27m transfer in January.

However, he was previously blighted by fitness problems during his time at the Amex with groin and hamstring injuries previously keeping him out of matches.

Trossard has made six appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season, starting two league fixtures and scoring in both the English top-flight and the Champions League.

The injury issue will raise concern amongst Arsenal supporters who are also waiting news on Bukayo Saka's return from injury.
