Nothing Can Stop Us:Arsenal have made contact over 'extremely quick' £39m striker who's 'better' than Haaland

According to Calciomercato, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are one of the club eyeing the RB Leipzig striker.

Arsenal are fairly well stocked in attack at present, but there’s always scope for the Gunners to look towards bolstering their ranks.

Calciomercato’s report is from an AC Milan perspective, with the Italian giants apparently in pursuit of Sesko.

However, they will seemingly face ‘fierce’ competition from other clubs, ‘in particular Arsenal’, to secure his services.

Better still, the Gunners have apparently had direct relationship with Sesko’s camp and have been eyeing him for a while.

The report suggests that the close ties between Arsenal and the player’s camp may help the Gunners win the race.

However, Arsenal – or any other suitors – won’t be able to get their hands on Sesko for cheap.

Apparently, the Slovenia international’s valuation has more than doubled from €20million (£17.5million) to ‘no less than’ €45-50million (£39-44million).

Arsenal target Sesko is ‘among the game’s top young talents’
Sesko joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last summer for a reported €24million (£21million) and he has hit the ground running.

To date, the 20-year-old has registered six goals from 12 competitive outings in all competitions for his new club.

Sesko would be an outstanding acquisition for Arsenal. He is incredibly talented and, at just 20 years of age, can get a whole lot better still.

The Bundesliga website has compared him to Erling Braut Haaland. Indeed, Sesko has welcomed those comparisons.“Such comparisons motivate me and give me energy,” Sesko said previously of being likened to Haaland. “They do not represent pressure. I will listen and learn so I can be even better than he is.

“My teammates at the club tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I’m better than him!”

‘A special player with a special profile’
In terms of what Sesko’s peers have said about him, the Bundesliga website also featured quotes from Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell.

“Benjamin Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player,” he said.

“He has all the qualities to do that. He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him and is strong in the air.

“Benjamin is a real goalscorer, who despite his 1.95m (6’4”) is mobile and technically strong. His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”
