The Arsenal No.8 was responding to the 20-year-old’s Instagram post.
So, what did Martin Odegaard send to Oscar Bobb? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Manchester City No.52 played 27 minutes of Norway’s 4-0 win over Cyprus in UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying on Thursday after coming on in the 63rd minute.
Bobb impressed in his brief cameo, providing one key pass while also completing 94% of his passes.
It was a deserved reward for the Oslo-born wonderkid after his strong start to the 2023/24 campaign at Manchester City, where he recently made his first start for the Citizens in the 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat against Newcastle.
Odegaard simply sent Bobb a clapping emoji after he made his debut for Norway, along with a star.
Liam Delap also sent a message to his fellow Manchester City academy graduate, writing “wow” after hearing that his pal had made his full international debut.
James McAtee also sent his congratulations with Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Shea Charles getting in on the act as well.
Sky is the limit for Oscar Bobb
Bobb’s emergence could signal the start of a golden generation for Norway, with Odegaard, Erling Haaland, Antonio Nusa, Sander Berge and Alexander Sorloth also impressing regularly nowadays.
Even if things do not work out for Bobb on the international scene, the sky is the limit for him at club level under Pep Guardiola’s guidance, and even beyond the Spaniard’s time at the Etihad Stadium. The Norwegian prospect has not looked out of place one bit when given game time amongst Manchester City’s established stars, which speaks volumes given the fact he is only 20.
With a full international debut now under his belt too, Bobb can really kick on and fulfil his vast potential.
