The good news is that almost every single first-team player was spotted taking part in the session. This includes captain Martin Odegaard, who football.londonunderstands is dealing with a slight hip injury and was rested for Saturday's 5-0 thumping of Sheffield United.
"We rested him the other day and now it is about how long we rest him and how we manage now the minutes and the rhythm he needs to be at his best," Mikel Arteta said of the influential midfielder in the pre-match press conference. "We had the opportunity to do it, we didn't use him in the end so that was a good offload for him.
"It is not only that. There are a lot of things that you have to do, it is impossible to play with no niggles in football at this level when you have games every three days. It is impossible, if you try to do that you are better to stay in bed because I don't know any players that are constantly perfect and in the best possible condition so you have to adapt to that."
Aside from the injured Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus, it was back to work at London Colney for the majority of Arsenal's outfield senior players just a few days removed from the win over the Blades and below is what else football.london spotted from the latest session.
Youngsters called up
Arsenal's third round win over Brentford last month was significant for the club's Hale End academy. Firstly, Charles Sagoe Jr made his senior debut, whilst Amario Cozier-Duberry, Reuell Walters and James Sweet also made the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium without making an appearance off the bench.
Whether any of the quartet are in line to make the matchday squad on Wednesday night remains to be seen, but Walters, Cozier-Duberry, Jimi Gower, Bradley Ibrahim, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri were among the youngsters called up to train alongside the likes of Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.
With regard to Nwaneri, the attacking midfielder has not featured at all since turning out for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League against PSV Eindhoven on September 20, so this is possibly a sign that he has fully recovered from the injury that had sidelined him for over a month. No Smith Rowe?
Let the theories begin! From the images that football.london have access to, there was no sign of Emile Smith Rowe in Tuesday's training session at London Colney. Cue the inevitable fears among some supporters that he is set to miss the West Ham United game.
It should be pointed out that Saka and William Saliba were absent from the final training session ahead of the Chelsea game a couple of weeks ago but both started at Stamford Bridge. So, it's impossible to draw any conclusions about Smith Rowe as he could have been present but simply not captured by the club's photographer.
Rice reunion
For the first time since completing a £105million transfer to Arsenal, Declan Rice could face his former club on Wednesday night. In fact, according to Arteta, the midfielder is in contention to feature at the London Stadium and the Spaniard is expecting a warm reception if that's the case.
"He's likely. He can be involved, it would be his first time back there at his old club and a beautiful moment for him," the Gunners boss told reporters. "I think its beautiful, I had the experience to do it a few times and then you really see what they think of you and what you left at that club. It’s really good way to measure your experience and the reality of your reality with the people who shared those moments with you.
"I would say so and I hope so [Rice receiving a good reception form the West Ham fans]. Especially because every time you hear him talk about West Ham and what they did for him and everybody at the club, he cannot speak any more highly. Hopefully, it will be the same way towards him."
The 24-year-old was rather laid back in training ahead of a potential reunion with former teammates such as Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Lucas Paqueta and his ex-manager David Moyes.
