‘Really good’: Mikel Arteta says £90,000-a-week Arsenal squad player making ‘big impact’

Leandro Trossard is not a regular in the Arsenal first team at the moment, but, ahead of the Premier League match against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has raved about him.

Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.

The Gunners brought the winger to the Emirates Stadium to enhance their chances of winning the Premier League title last season.

Arsenal did not win the title.

Manchester City did.

While Trossard is a very good winger and has a wealth of experience in the Premier League, he is essentially a squad player at Arsenal.

After all, when fit and available, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are the two regular wingers in the Arsenal starting lineup.

Trossard has made one start and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.

The Arsenal no. 19 has scored one goal in those games.

The £90,000-a-week (Spotrac) winger, though, has started in both the UEFA Champions League games for Arsenal this campaign.

Trossard has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.

Martinelli and Saka have injury problems ahead of the Premier League match against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in North London this weekend.Mikel Arteta on Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard
Trossard could start.

And, Arteta has praised him.

Football.London quotes Arteta as saying about Trossard: “Really important.

“I think Leo has been really good.

“He had a big impact in the team, the last game that he played.

“He was absent against Brentford when he could not participate but apart from that he’s been really good.”

My View: Leandro Trossard an important player for Arsenal
In my opinion, Leandro Trossard will play his role for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months.

Arsenal need players like Trossard who can make an impact off the bench or when they start occasionally.

After all, the Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League and make an impact in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Arteta cannot expect the likes of Saka and Martinelli to play in each and every game.

I believe that Trossard will show his importance to Arsenal this season.
