SAKA INJURY UPDATE:Arsenal set Saka injury timeline with fresh training plan before Chelsea clash

Arsenal have laid out their plan of action to try and bring star forward Bukayo Saka back to full fitness in time to face Chelsea in their next Premier League clash. The Gunners are sweating on the injury surrounding the 22-year-old following some struggles in recent weeks.

Having been an instrumental cog in the Arsenal machine, there were concerns after Saka was seen limping off against Tottenham a few weeks ago. He managed to make a full recovery to face Bournemouth after, but couldn't last the full game, sparking further fears on his availability.

A quick turnaround saw the Gunners take on RC Lens in Champions League action and there was a boost with Saka named on the team sheet yet again. However, much like the clash with the Cherries, he wouldn't last the full game as he left the field of play after just 30 minutes.

It put doubt over whether the Hale Enders would be fit enough for the clash with title rivals Manchester City, with plenty of uncertainty surrounding it. Once the team was revealed, it showed that Saka wasn't able to make the match and faced some time on the sidelines.

The call-up to the England national squad saw the winger check in for duty, but after checks from the medical staff, he was cleared to return to Arsenal for rehabilitation. With two weeks without any action, many will be hopeful that the time off will allow for a return against Chelsea.

The Gunners are claimed to have a training timeline planned out for Saka to ensure that he can return to action as soon as possible. According to a report from the Evening Standard, the idea at this stage is to hold rehab sessions before being given the weekend off alongside the remainder of the squad that haven't been drafted for international duty.

Then, as of the start of next week, there will be an assessment to see if Saka is fit enough to return to training sessions and put in a bid to be fit for the Chelsea clash. It remains to be seen if he will manage to make that return, but with a tough run-in still to come, many will hope he will be back for it.
