‘Something silly’: Arsenal told 24-year-old is too expensive for them

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with Victor Osimhen, but talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor does not think that the Napoli striker will move to the Gunners.

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Victor Osimhen would cost Arsenal silly money.

The talkSPORT pundit made the comments about the 24-year-old while discussing the need for Arsenal to bring in England international striker Ivan Toney from Brentford in the January transfer window.

Arsenal linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
The Sun reported in late September that Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all are monitoring the situation of Osimhen at Napoli.

Football Transfers reported in August that Arsenal want to sign the 24-year-old striker in the summer of 2024.

The report added that Arsenal Sporting Director Edu is personally trying to make a deal happen, having already contacted Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis to ask about the availability of the striker.

Gabby Agbonlahor’s verdict on Arsenal and Victor Osimhen
Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: “No one will be able to afford him, he’ll be something silly, £140/150million.”

I believe that Arsenal could be able to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, but not in the January transfer window.

If the Gunners are to bring the striker to the Emirates Stadium, then it will be next summer.

There is no way that Napoli will sell any of their best players in the middle of the season, and that includes Osimhen.

After all, Napoli are aiming to win the Serie A title for the second season in a row and are also playing in the UEFA Champions League.
