‘Will Cause Liverpool problems’: Arsenal tipped to sign Premier League duo for 'Victor Osimhen money'

Kevin Campbell is backing Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to sign Premier League duo Ivan Toney and Pedro Neto in January.

With Arsenal pushing for the Premier League title again this season, it will be interesting to see how they tackle the winter transfer market because it could push them over the line during the final few months of the season.

Highbury legend Kevin Campbell thinks Arsenal could land both Ivan Toney from Brentford and Pedro Neto of Wolves for transfer fees that would match what they would have to pay for Victor Osimhen, as he told Curtis Shaw TV.

Napoli’s legendary striker helped the Italian giants win the Serie A title last season for the first time in three decades.

But he recently hit the headlines for the wrong reasons after being publicly mocked by his club on social media, as a result, it has left many questioning if he could be headed for the exit door once the transfer window re-opens.

And whilst Campbell acknowledges that Victor Osimhen is a ‘quality player’, he explained why he would prefer Ivan Toney, who is currently serving a ban, and Pedro Neto, instead. Ivan Toney and Pedro Neto to Arsenal
“You can get Ivan Toney and Neto for virtually the money you are going to spend on Osimhen,” said Campbell.

“Osimhen. Quality player that he is. Top-class. He has never played in the Premier League. Will he just automatically just transition to the Premier League? We don’t know.

“Two players that we know can come in and hit the ground running are Toney and Neto. £60 million. You take Toney all day long. £80 million. If someone says pay that and you win the title, then you pay it, don’t you?!

“You get Neto as well. You solve the problem of the Saka dilemma. And Martinelli because Neto can play on that side as well.

“But Toney is the key. He offers that big and strong striker, who can cause Man City problems. We have seen him cause Liverpool problems.”

What can Arsenal spend in January?
Given that Arsenal were pushing for the likes of Moises Caicedo and Mykhailo Mudryk last January, then it suggests that they will attempt something similar again if things are going well in the league.

Of course, a lot will depend on what they can spend rather than what they are willing to put on the table.

Whilst the powers that be at Arsenal have taken a few verbal beatings from fans over the years, they can’t argue that Arteta has been backed since the day he stepped foot into the club.
