Arsenal finally moving to end tiresome Dusan Vlahovic talk by doing homework on 'special' Premiere League player - View

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a move for upcoming Brighton and Republic of Ireland striker, Evan Ferguson, according to reports.

Ferguson has emerged as one of the hottest properties around after a blistering start to his Brighton career under Roberto de Zerbi.

A number of top clubs are said to be looking at Ferguson already. Tottenham are big admirers, while the Manchester clubs are also known to like the Irishman.

However, reports from TeamTalk today suggest Arsenal have also been scouting Ferguson for a year now as they look on from afar to see what his future holds.

And given the Gunners have been linked with Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic for so long, it’s good to see them finally moving onto a player who could actually make a big difference.

Evan Ferguson better than Dusan Vlahovic for Arsenal
Recent reports have suggested that Vlahovic is still a target for Arsenal as part of a potential swap deal involving Thomas Partey.

And while a new striker is a must and sacrificing Partey might work, Vlahovic is just nowhere near as good as Evan Ferguson. Furthermore, the Serbian also rejected Arsenal after they’d done a lot of groundwork, signing for Juventus instead.

In Ferguson, Arsenal would be getting a player who already looks firmly on course to become one of the Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorers.

Ferguson has been lauded by former great goal-getters such as Gary Lineker, while Alan Shearer has tipped the young striker to be the next big sale from Brighton. Jamie Carragher also believes the teenager is a ‘special’ talent.

Of course, Ferguson recently signed a new contract and there is no rush on Brighton’s part to move him on. The Seagulls know they have a world-class young talent on their hands and clubs will be queuing up for him.

For Arsenal, making sure they are the front of that queue could be imperative. For so long, Gunners fans have seen the name of Dusan Vlahovic flash up around transfer windows. And in fairness, it’s one that’s become tiresome.

Ferguson, though, is a different kettle of fish and Gunners supporters will be rightly excited if this apparent scouting interest goes any further
