Speaking on the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, the Crystal Palace midfielder has been reviewing some of his peers’ stats on the new EA FC 24 game, and he was presented with Rice’s stats.
Eze was shocked to learn that Rice actually had a lower passing rating than himself on the game.
Not only did Eze admit that Rice was a better passer of the ball than he is, he stated that the 24-year-old has bags of potential, claiming that he could well become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world if he keeps going in this direction.
Rice could become one of the best
Eze spoke about his England teammate.
“That’s a lie. Is it lower than mine? It can’t be lower than mine. It’s bad man. He could be incredible, an incredible player,” Eze said.
“One of the best defensive midfielders in the world for you?” Eze was asked.
“Potentially, he can be, it’s a journey, he’s just started at Arsenal, so we can see what he can do, but I wouldn’t put it past him at all.”Just getting started
Rice is already a £105m player, so you’d like to think he’s already in the bracket among the best in the world, but the reality is he’s just getting started.
Rice has only played a handful of games for a top club since leaving West Ham, and the exciting part is that he seems to improve every single week.
Of course, Rice’s legacy will be defined by the titles he wins with Arsenal and England, but based on what he’s shown so far this season, he could end up being a player in he upper echelon of world football.
