'From what I'm hearing': Fabrizio Romano claims 'perfect' midfielder is now Arsenal's top target..New transfer has been Revealed!

Arsenal really want to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as Thomas Partey faced an extended period on the sidelines.

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is considered to be the ‘perfect’ midfield addition inside Arsenal.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims on YouTube that Luiz has become Arsenal’s top target for January.

Arsenal are still without the injured Thomas Partey and he now looks set to miss the rest of 2023.

There have be to be huge concerns about Partey’s durability moving forward and Arsenal may well invest in another midfielder come January.

Arsenal see Douglas Luiz as the ‘perfect’ signing
Fabrizio Romano now reports that Arsenal’s top target is Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

Romano claims that people inside Arsenal – including technical director Edu – consider Lui to be the perfect midfield signing.

The problem here is that Villa have absolutely no interest in selling.

Unai Emery has turned Villa into a very dangerous side this season and they will have hope of sneaking into the top four.

Luiz is key to those hopes and Romano believes that Villa would only consider a ‘crazy, important, huge’ offer for the Brazilian.

“The top name, from what I’m hearing, on Arsenal’s list is Douglas Luiz,” said Romano. “The player was already on the list two years ago, Edu and other people at the club really appreciate him. Douglas Luiz is considered the perfect midfielder by people at Arsenal, so they would love to sign him.”

“We have to respect Aston Villa, they have an ambitious project and they consider Douglas as a crucial player, so only a crazy, important, huge proposal could be considered for Douglas Luiz in January,” he added.Arsenal have wanted Douglas Luiz for a long time
This is one rumour which doesn’t seem to be going away.

Arsenal famously made moves to sign Luiz late in the summer 2022 transfer window.

Sky Sports reported that Arsenal made three bids worth £20million, £23million and then £25million, but Villa said no to all of them.

More than a year on, Arsenal remain keen on Luiz and will absolutely have to spend a lot more than those offers now.

Villa would likely demand well over £50million for Luiz given the way the midfield market has exploded in recent times.

Arsenal spending that in January seems unlikely, but maybe Edu will push the boat out to finally land his man.
