Arsenal fell to a 3-1 defeat at West Ham thanks to an own goal from Ben White and a stunning goal from Mohammed Kudus before Jarrod Bowen’s deflected effort beat Aaron Ramsdale.
Martin Odegaard did grab a late consolation for the Gunners after coming off the bench but there were some disappointing performances from Arsenal players on the night.
And one player who struggled in particular was Kai Havertz.
The 24-year-old just couldn’t get into the game despite playing the full 90 minutes and his difficult start to life at Arsenal continues.
Now, Alan Brazil has predicted that Havertz is on borrowed time in North London after last night’s defeat to West Ham.
Brazil predicts Havertz is on ‘limited time’ at Arsenal
Speaking on talkSPORT, Brazil claimed that Havertz just simply isn’t cut out for Premier League football.
He said: “And Havertz, people say he’s a midfield player, I don’t know what he is right?
“I don’t know if he’s a striker, if he’s a midfielder player.
“I know he’s struggling, he might be all right internationally, but in the Premier [League] he is struggling. And I think his time’s limited.”
Gabriel Agbonlahor then weighed in with his thoughts and said: “He cost £65m, Chelsea must have been thinking to themselves, you want to pay £65m, what?
“Wow, we’ve got £65m for Havertz, Mount went for big money as well, he’s not quick, he’s weak, can’t hold the ball up, gets brushed off the ball, no creativity, no pace, not clinical, I don’t know what he offers.”Havertz has endured a difficult start to life at Arsenal and Arteta is clearly struggling to find his best position.
But it’s still early days in terms of Havertz’s Arsenal career and while he hasn’t enjoyed the best start, he’s shown glimpses of why Arteta signed him.
Arsenal paid £65 million to land the midfielder from Chelsea over the summer and it would be a huge surprise to see them give up on him so quickly.
