The Reds are already without Andy Robertson and Thiago along with some other first-team players and now a crucial duo could miss the busiest period of the year. "Both are out (Alisson and Jota)," Klopp revealed in his press conference ahead of the Europa League clash against LASK. "Ali is a bit lesser, so we have to see.
"Not day by day he cannot play tomorrow or Sunday probably not the week after, should be kind of okay. Diogo will take a little bit longer, don't know exactly, but it's a bit more severe. Have to see.."
Based on Klopp's rough timeline estimate, Alisson will miss games against LASK, Fulham, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace with a return likely to come against Manchester United on Sunday, December 17. Liverpool are in European action a few days prior but Caoimhin Kelleher could start that fixture to avoid any injury setbacks.
The week after Man United head to Anfield, Liverpool are the visitors to Emirates Stadium just a few days before Christmas and Klopp will certainly want the Brazil international available. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is also dealing with some of his own injury worries with Fabio Vieira joining the injury list that already consists of Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber.
"Yeah we’ve got a problem with him [Vieira]," Arteta revealed on Tuesday. "He’s been having some discomfort. We tried to have some conservative treatment with him. It wasn’t improving so we sent him to see a specialist and the advice was to have an operation in his groin. We did that yesterday. We expect him to be out for weeks now."
