Arsenal have perfect wildcard to play in Dusan Vlahovic race as Juventus propose deal

Arsenal are expected to reignite their interest in Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, and they could have a way of convincing the Italian giants to make a deal. Reports in Italy suggest Juve want to sign Charlie Patino, but can't afford his asking price.

Patino is one of the most highly-rated youngsters to come through the Arsenal academy in recent years, and is currently on loan at Championship side Swansea.

The Gunners have big plans for Patino, and have slapped a £17million asking price on him as a result. Juventus can't afford that, however, due to their poor financial position, and have instead proposed a player-plus-cash deal involving Moise Kean.

However, Arsenal have been heavily linked with a different Juventus player in recent days, centre-forward Vlahovic. The Gunners famously tried to sign the Serbian before he moved from Fiorentina to Juve in 2022, but refused to stump up the £60m asking price in the January window.

Now, however, they've been linked again, with Mikel Arteta desperate to sign a new striker during the January window to spear-head their title charge. Brentford's Ivan Toney and Napoli's Victor Osimhen have both been linked, but it seems unlikely either will be for sale for anything less than an astronomical fee before the summer.

Due to Juve's financial situation and the lack of European football revenue, the Italians are reportedly ready to accept a fee of £52m for Vlahovic, making him realistically attainable. So far, Arsenal are said to have indicated they'd be willing to pay £35m.
