Edu Gaspar left applauding after ‘unplayable’ Arsenal youngster’s display last night

Edu Gaspar has reacted to Ethan Nwaneri’s latest performance for Arsenal Under-18s.

The Gunners sporting director took to Instagram and was left applauding after the Arsenal youngster netted five goals in the FA Youth Cup last night.

While Arsenal’s first team endured a night to forget at Villa Park on Saturday, their academy side were in fine form against Crewe Alexandra.

The U18s picked up a 7-1 win at Meadow Park and Ethan Nwaneri stole the show with a dazzling display.

Nwaneri picked up the match ball as he bagged five goals in the second half after Crewe had taken an early lead in the game.

Lewis Brown and Omari Benjamin were also on target but it was Nwaneri who impressed Edu Gaspar.

Edu amazed by Nwaneri display for Arsenal Under-18s
Arsenal’s official academy account took to social media after last night’s game and lauded Nwaneri after a brilliant performance.

They wrote: “Five goals for Ethan tonight. Sensational performance.”

And Edu was left applauding beneath the post after a breathtaking display from the 16-year-old.
Nwaneri looks set for a bright future ahead of him at Arsenal after making history last season.

Of course, the talented midfielder became the youngest-ever player to feature in the Premier League, aged 15 years and 181 days when he made his debut at Brentford.

The Englishman hasn’t made an appearance for Arsenal since but he has been called up to first-team training by Mikel Arteta recently while Edu is clearly keeping an eye on his progress.

Arsenal seem to have a real talent on their hands here and the Hale End Academy continues to produce brilliant youngsters.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Nwaneri get another opportunity in the first team over the coming months, especially if he continues to produce performances like the one he managed last night.

The ‘unplayable‘ midfield talent is enjoying a decent campaign for Arsenal’s academy sides so far, having netted five times and provided two assists in seven appearances.
