The Gunners picked up a deserved point at Anfield thanks to Gabriel Magalhaes’ early opener.
Mohamed Salah cancelled out Gabriel’s goal on the half-hour mark but Arsenal put in a solid performance on the road.
It was a game where defensive players from both sides shone, with William Saliba scooping the Man of the Match award on Sky Sports.
In truth, both sides struggled to create clear-cut opportunities in the game due to the brilliant defensive work on display.
But Edu Gaspar was impressed with Bukayo Saka’s efforts off the right-hand side for Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Edu applauds Saka after latest Arsenal display
Saka took to Instagram after yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield and admitted he was disappointed to not pick up all three points.
He wrote: “We wanted more today, but we will take the point, keep working and pleased to be on top heading into Christmas.”
Edu left a comment beneath the post and applauded the Hale End Academy product.

Edu has made a habit of praising his players on social media after games this season and he’s becoming a very influential figure at Arsenal.
While he can’t take credit for Saka’s rise at Arsenal, he has brought in a wealth of talented players during Mikel Arteta’s tenure.
As for Saka, he wasn’t exactly at his best in the final third yesterday but was still heavily involved in some of the Gunners’ best moments.
Indeed, the 22-year-old raced through on goal in the first half which led to a glorious opportunity for Gabriel Martinelli.
You’d imagine that Arsenal will be content with a point at Anfield as it ensures they top the Premier League on Christmas day once again.
This time, Arteta will be desperate to guide his side to the title after narrowly missing out last term.
