Granit Xhaka fires three-word dig to Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko

Granit Xhaka has playfully trolled Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko with a hilarious comment on social media. Zinchenko started for the Gunners on Wednesday night as they defeated RC Lens 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League, securing top spot in their group in the process.

It was a hugely impressive performance from Mikel Arteta's side, with six different players finding the back of the net. After the full-time whistle, left-back Zinchenko took to Instagram, sharing a snap from the match with his followers.

His caption read: "Let’s go for more (Fire emoji) @Arsenal." Bayern Leverkusen star Xhaka then took to the comments section, poking fun at his old teammate.

The Swiss captain said: "Did you play? (Laughing emoji)." It was a funny response from the experienced midfielder, who opted to leave the north London club over the summer, ending a seven-year stay at the Emirates Stadium. The 30-year-old enjoyed his best campaign last term, netting seven goals and providing a further seven assists in the Premier League as Arsenal narrowly missed out on the title, finishing five points behind Manchester City. His replacement, Kai Havertz, has struggled to hit the ground running since joining the Gunners from Chelsea for £65million.

Havertz has failed to find consistency in his first few months at the club, often unable to impact games in a meaningful way. However, the talented playmaker has enjoyed his best few days in an Arsenal shirt over the last week, netting a last-gasp winner against Brentford on Saturday before breaking the deadlock against Lens on Wednesday night.

Arteta will hope that the German international can continue to fire in front of goal this weekend when his side take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
